Initially, my interest was flagging because I was finding Faythe, the lead character, to be immature, annoying and unsympathetic. However, that is part of the story. Events occur later that force Faythe to mature pretty quickly. Following her on that journey is the real gift of the story, along with some pretty exciting and terrifying situations.I am not fond of love triangles so Faythe's entanglement with two men in this story, while well done, was a distraction for me. Both men involved are likable with their own sets of issues. Fortunately, by the end of the story the issue is resolved. This is a well-written and interesting book and I am anxious to continue the series.
