This was a nice follow up to the first book in the series. While this was Ripley's story, I was more enamored of Mac Booke. He's a very layered character and provided insight into all of the women in the circle. I sometimes struggled with the believability of Ripley's stubbornness in the face of reality but Mac's character provided much needed balance. I'm rating this a 4 because of the strength of the story and Mac. He was worth the read.
