I have mixed feelings about this story. On the one hand, Vishous backstory was truly compelling, given the cruelty of his father and selfish nature of his mother. His relationship with Butch is best described as complex and confusing. On the other hand, his relationship with Jane should be his salvation and still may be. The ending left me in an uneasy space. This was another emotional journey that lived up to my expectations but also handed me an unexpected punch. I guess it's effective because I cannot wait to start the next book.
